Piper Adams is a Spokane native who has been dancing locally for 18 years. She is on faculty as a teacher, choreographer, and competition assistant. Piper is cross trained in tap, contemporary, jazz, lyrical, ballet, and hip hop. Her passion is for tap and contemporary.
Piper has taught at Artistry in Motion Dance and Performing Arts Studio for two years. During this time, she has also choreographed several group and solo pieces for the competition team. Her pieces have won numerous specialty awards and overall placements. Piper has worked closely with choreographers and teachers such as Bonni Dichone, Brittany Mains, Lexi Dysart, Paul Grover, and Tamara Zink. She has also had the privilege to be in routines choreographed by Ambrose Respicio, Jaimie Goodwin, Robert Schultz, and Ryan Maw. Piper has also attended classes at studios such as Movement Lifestyle, Millennium Dance Complex, Broadway Dance Center and Steps on Broadway.
Piper has performed locally at an event with the Spokane Symphony, was cast as the Youngest Princess for The Dancing Princesses with the Spokane Youth Ballet. She has also performed for several years with the State Street Ballet in multiple roles in The Nutcracker. Some other performances include: Whitworth halftime show, Harlem Globetrotter halftime show, and Gonzaga halftime shows. More recently, Piper has won multiple scholarships and performed in closing shows at conventions including 24Seven, Nuvo, REVEL, and Velocity. She was also selected to perform nationally with Spotlight Dance Cup, after having earned the title of Miss Spotlight regionally. Her most recent project was being production assistant and ensemble dancer, for a concept video directed and choreographed by Ryan Maw.
As well as being a teacher, choreographer, and competition assistant, Piper also works for Spotlight Dance Cup. She has had the pleasure traveling on weekends, working as backstage manager, social media manager and dance down teacher.
In the dance classroom, Piper’s main focuses are creating a safe space, embracing individuality, prioritizing mental and physical well-being through movement, with an emphasis on musicality, authenticity, and self exploration.
