Christina Wladimirov is both a teacher and choreographer, dedicating over twenty-seven years to sharing her passion and love for dance with her students.
As a former professional dancer, she firmly believes in the power of dance to bring connection, whether on stage or in the classroom, her goal is to inspire her audience to fall in love with dance even more than they did before, helping them feel more connected to their true selves and evoking powerful emotions through movement.
Christina has taught at Holland College School of Performing Arts in Prince Edward Island and Dance Umbrella at the Confederation Centre of the Arts. She has also served as a Master Teacher in Central Europe at Stuttgart’s International Dance Camp Festival, in Ukraine’s Dance Center MYWAY, and has conducted workshops at various dance competitions and conventions across Eastern Canada, including those at Limelight Productions Inc. and the Atlantic Collegiate Dance Competition.
She is particularly fond of teaching at a number of exceptional dance studios in Washington State, especially looking forward to another great season at Artistry In Motion. Christina has been a part of AIM since its inception, considering it her "home away from home" and deeply appreciating the sense of community and belonging it offers.
Christina lives in Washington State with her husband and daughter, but her roots in Canada remain strong, as she recently returned from judging at Extreme Dance Challenge, in Calgary, Canada.
She is a proud graduate from Oklahoma City University, where she earned a Bachelor of Performing Arts Degree in Dance Performance from Ann Lacy School of American Dance and Entertainment, and has also been certified in Progressing Ballet Technique.
Her dance career includes roles such as a dancer in “Imaginique” with Cirque Productions and “A Dance Tribute To The King” at Busch Gardens Williamsburg, VA, Tokyo Japan Disneyland shows, “Once Upon A Mouse,” and “One Man’s Dream II,” high-energy productions aboard various Holland America Cruise Line vessels with Stiletto Entertainment, background dancer for “Weird Al” Yankovich’s tour “Running with Scissors,” dance assistant to US World Champion of Magic Jason Latimer’s show “Imagineer,” ensemble in Village Theater’s production of Disney’s “MARY POPPINS,” an animal character in Seattle Opera’s, “The Magic Flute,” industrial promotions for Mercedes-Benz, among others.
Each morning, Christina wakes up feeling incredibly grateful for the vibrant life filled with opportunities that dance has brought her. She believes that dance training is the ultimate life coach, and she is deeply thankful for the endless possibilities that come from hard work and seizing opportunities. Most of all, she is grateful for the art of dance, which connects people and transforms lives for the better.
